Ignacio Paz is the former General Manager, Internet of Things (IoT) at Rogers Communications, where he was responsible for developing and executing the company’s IoT strategy, product management and development, thought-leadership, strategic partnerships, customer experience, and overall go-to-market execution for all IoT products and solutions. Prior to joining Rogers, Ignacio Paz held leadership positions at SAP where he was responsible for businesses development, services delivery and innovation. Mr. Paz also held titles at IBM, Capgemini and British American Tobacco in a management consulting and IT capacity.

He has over six years of professional experience in the fields of constitutional litigation, corporate and securities law, business innovation and, as of May 2014, blockchain technology. Juan obtained his law degree in 2009 from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, and, in 2016, obtained his International Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business.

Dean is Counsel in Baker & McKenzie’s Toronto office. Previously, he was in-house counsel at Walmart Canada Corporation where he held the position of Vice-President, Associate General Counsel, and Privacy Officer, and was the senior lawyer responsible for data privacy, litigation, and employment and labour law matters. Dean has served on the Executive Committee of the Ontario Bar Association’s Privacy Law Section, the Advisory Board of the Conference Board of Canada’s Chief Privacy Officers’ Council, the Executive of the Retail Council of Canada’s Privacy Committee, and the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers. He is an author, and frequent speaker on privacy, labour and employment, and litigation matters. Dean’s practice focuses on privacy and information governance, and he provides strategic advice on the management and retention of information globally.
